iEARN (International Education and Resource Network) is a non-profit organization made up of over 30,000 schools and youth organizations in more than 130 countries. iEARN empowers teachers and young people to work together online using the Internet and other new communications technologies. Over 2,000,000 students each day are engaged in collaborative project work worldwide.

Since 1988, iEARN has pioneered on-line school linkages to enable students to engage in meaningful educational projects with peers in their countries and around the world.

About The Conference

In July 2010, iEARN-Canada will be hosting the 17th Annual iEARN International Conference and 14th Annual Youth Summit. This is a gathering open to all, which typically brings together teachers and students from over 70 countries. It builds upon previous conferences in Argentina (1994), Australia (1995), Hungary (1996), Spain (1997), USA (1998), Puerto Rico (1999), China (2000), South Africa (2001), Russia (2002), Japan (2003), Slovakia (2004), Senegal (2005), the Netherlands (2006), Egypt (2007), and Morocco (2009).

All are welcome!  We invite you to join hundreds of educators, students, administrators and partner organizations who come together annually from 50-70 countries at the iEARN Conference and Youth Summit to share how they are using technology to build global understanding and enhance teaching and learning!

Travel

Visitors to the conference, who will arrive by air, will travel to Pearson International Airport in Toronto. Transportation to and from the conference will be provided on Sunday July 11th and Saturday July 17th.

Visa Information

Many conference participants will require a visa to enter Canada. It is extremely important that you register for the conference early in order to begin the visa process, as it can take up to 4 months for a Canadian Visa to be issued!

Accommodation & Meals

Situated on the main campus of Georgian College, Georgian Suites and Georgian Green provide easy access to various facilities including restaurant, health center, gymnasium, activities, as well as academic and administrative services.

Explore Canada

Canada is a diverse and beautiful country with so much to see and so many things to do. There are several excursions that will be offered to the conference participants on Wednesday July 14th, 2010. The cost of the excursions is not included in the conference fee and information about the excursions will be available in mid February. There will be on site registration for the excursions.
